How does the trainer choose questions?

You pick a level (basic or advanced), one or more modules (categories such as tempo, articulation, character, or bow placement), one or more quiz types, and a session length. The trainer builds a shuffled session of questions drawn from the matching pool. Wrong answers go into a short retry queue at the end of the session.

What are the four quiz types?

Term → meaning shows the source term and asks for its short definition in the UI language. Term → musical action asks what a performer concretely does. Term → sound result asks what the audible result is. Term → equivalent asks for the closest direct or near-equivalent in another language. Each type uses its own distractor strategy so the four wrong answers are plausibly confusable, not random.

Why are some terms flagged as basic vs advanced?

Accepted Answer

Basic level uses the most-encountered terms across the standard tonal and modernist repertoire. Advanced level adds period-specific (Baroque ornaments, French overture marks), idiomatic (extended techniques for a specific instrument family), and rarer cross-tradition terms. Both levels respect the per-term quizEligible flag so draft terms never appear.
