How is hängendes Becken played?
Use one cymbal hung or stand-mounted so it can vibrate freely, then apply the separately specified stroke and implement. A single stroke may range from a broad noise-rich accent to a focused dome sound; rapid alternating strokes with two matching mallets can merge into a roll, most readily with softer mallets. Let the cymbal decay or damp it according to ties, note values, verbal directions and local convention. Suspension does not by itself require a roll, crescendo, edge stroke, soft mallets or maximum resonance.
