On 18 April 2026, Daniel Fladmose’s MGK composition students brought their own Danish songs into a workshop with composer Jesper Koch and soprano Signe Asmussen.
The project gave the students a concrete meeting with text, voice and piano writing. Their songs were not only discussed as scores; they were sung, tested and shaped by experienced Danish artists with deep knowledge of vocal line, text setting, piano texture and musical form.
Daniel prepared and guided the students through the process from sketches toward music that could meet real performers. The workshop made the distance between notation and sounding music immediate: where a phrase breathes, where a word resists, where the piano supports or disturbs the voice, and where a song begins to become theatrical, lyrical or structurally clear.
