The first edition of Lydbrøndene presented young composers’ music through 32 sound wells at Bent Fabricius-Bjerres Plads during Frederiksberg Festspil.
The square is large enough for listeners to move through the sound field rather than simply stand in front of it: people could cross the music on foot, cycle across the wells, or ride around the sound image on electric scooters. For young composers, this changed the basic situation of listening. The music was placed inside a public space, where movement, distance and chance became part of the experience.
The project was later featured on DR P2 Puls in a segment about Frederiksberg Festspil, the sound wells and young composers. Daniel’s students Jonas Færgeman and Laura Dayani were interviewed by Morten Kjær Nielsen from P2 Puls in connection with the project.
