From 2023, I led Klangklassen, KLANG Festival’s platform for young composers before conservatory. The concert at KLANG in 2023 presented works by young composers from different teaching environments and gave them a real public frame for their music.
That is important. A young composer learns something very specific when a piece is no longer only discussed in a lesson, but has to exist in a room, with performers, timing, audience, uncertainty and sound.
Klangklassen was not simply a student concert. It was a way of treating young composition as something already artistically alive — still unfinished, still learning, but serious enough to stand in public.
